Hey guys,

Finally, I have some time to sit down and write. There are so many adventures and experiences I want to write about, but before I do that, I want to write about something that happened the day before yesterday.

If you have me on facebook, you might have already seen the picture but...The day before yesterday, M-san* and I were involved in a car accident. We were slammed from behind by a car who for some reason simply chose not to stop. We're both okay, but unfortunately, the car can not be repaired. From the outside, the damage doesn't look so bad, but from the inside it is. The car's frame itself was damaged. We need to buy a new car.

What saved us was the fact that we hadn't been moving when the car hit us. If we had, we would have spiraled in to a wall. Lucky for us, I had already come to a complete stop because of all the traffic ahead of us.

After visiting the hospital, we took a taxi home..

M-san* saw a side of me I had never wanted him to see. He saw me weak, scared and crying

Now, I'm angry

Why doesn't that man have a reason for not stopping?

KSAJDALSKD; I am elated beyond belief that both you guys are alright - well in the physical sense at least.

Both of you must be angry and shocked, probably a mix of other emotions too because of such an event.

Did you learn anything about the other driver? Was he/she drunk? Distracted by their cell-phone or something?

I was definitely shocked and angry at what happened. I think my friend was rather excited to have such an experience while visiting the US. XD
I mean, I know I was excited when I had my first ambulance ride in Japan.

We still don't know. The officer didn't pursue the case because the driver willingly gave up his insurance and admitted that he didn't stop. I guess that's all the officer needs.

I bet he was on his cellphone though.

I'm glad that you are okay, but really, I'm wondering why it is the person didn't stop either, I mean, you were in traffic and all right?

/sigh

Good Luck with everything, I hope that you are able to replace the car and stay safe. :)

Right! That's what kills me! We were in traffic, so things were moving super slow! How does he hit me from the right side so hard when it was impossible to go more than 10-15mph for me?! >< >< >

A car isn't vital for me. I have no problem walking every where. My parents however, really need to car because supermarkets and such are too far for them to walk...plus my dad needs it for work.

We need to find a car as close to $4,000 as possible, since that's all insurance will give us. Assholes. I'd say we should all just buy bicycles but not even those are safe here.

Yikes!!

Wish I knew what to tell you, but I have also been in accidents where I wondered WTF the other person was thinking. Not only that, the other guy tried to blame me when it was clearly their fault!! I hope that didn't happen to you.

All I can say is thankfully you are safe. I hope insurance will pay for the damages.

No no. The guy was pretty quick to give up his insurance and took complete blame for the accident. That really helped speed things up.

The insurance company only gave us $5,900 because the car was from 2005, despite it being in perfect condition. I think that blows, but what can we do, y'know?

Yeah... you know, with the way I drive, we all were sure that my first accident would be me rear ending someone. Never did we consider that at the speeds I drive, I would ever get hit from behind.

And look, ironically, I got hit after coming to a full stop. If I ever drive again, I'll stick to my speeding lol.

"An ugly duckling growing out of her feathers."

Hello. I'm Zia, and this is most obviously my journal. I write about my life between Japan and the US, and all the adventures I find myself in. People often say they are envious of the life I seem to live, but the truth is, I feel a little unsatisfied with it myself, so I've decided to do something about it--to find what really makes me happy. Hopefully by documenting my life, I can figure out where I need to be heading. This journal is my way of opening my world to those around me in hopes of meeting people searching for the same thing or encountering people who have already gone through this kind of struggle.

Back in my high school days, I used to be a bit of a nerd. I was really in to comic books of all kinds, action figures...all that jazz.  These days, though my interest in comic books re-surfaces every so often, I'm very much more in to things like fashion, dance, music, travel, tea, baking, writing letters, photography, animals and fitness. I'm a straight shooter--meaning I do not (or rather, can not?) lie. Keeping up with lies is too much trouble.

Anyway, there is more information about me on my profile. Feel free to take a look there or catch me on another site★
