I am exhausted beyond belief! I've had so many things to do this week and I've been working on getting them all done, but it feels like every time I cross one item off my list, two more appear. My friend will arrive in about ten days so it's pretty much vital that I get everything done within the next five.

In order to release some of the stress I built up from running around like a chicken with my head chopped off, I started playing プーぺガール! I've been trying to save money these days and haven't been shopping as much as I used to. This game lets me satisfy my shopping addiction without spending a dime! Besides, it's cute!

And Speaking Of

Cute,

I’m going to Disney!

Photobucket

I've always been a fan of DISNEY even if Take always said I was dishonoring him and his family by favoring DISNEY over USJ, and I've always made a habit of going whenever I had the chance. When I lived in Osaka, it was once or twice a year. When I lived in Yokohama, it was once a month. Anyway. I love it.

Now that I'm in Florida for a bit, I want to visit the Disney here too. I've been there once before, when I was about four or five years old, so I don't really remember it. One of my cousins is working there and she said she'd let me in for free, so I'm pretty excited!

After this, I'll only have Disney in Paris left to visit! I've always dreamed of going to every Disney before I die!

I feel like a child again, sitting here surrounded by Disney maps and attraction lists, trying to pick and plan what I absolutely have to see. I was able to walk Tokyo Disney and Sea in a day...but it doesn't look like I'll be able to do that here. I'm not sure how many chances I'll get to go before I head back to Japan, so I want to make sure I see the most important things first.

Like finding, stalking and marrying PETER PAN.

I wonder if a lot of people still like DISNEY... A lot of people grow up too fast....

Have fun! 8]

I love and hate Disney. -sigh- It was a big part of my childhood but re-watching the movies, I never noticed how grim some of them were and Aladdin had subtle racism. It reinforced the stereotypes of the "timeless Orient". ;w;

I get what you mean. The other day I was watching Snow White and the witch was like "Cut her heart out and put it in this box."

As a kid, it never bothered me. Now I was like, WHAT?!

But whether they have bad messages or not, they still manage to make me sit down and watch them the entire way through.

New Disney movies, aside from TANGLED, just don't do that for me.

That's true. o___o; A lot of Disney movies were based on folktales and they were macabre to begin with. I've never seen Tangled but if you like it, I'll probably put it down on my "to-watch-later" list. xD

Tangled is great. You should definitely watch it. It's one of the best Disney movies to come out in a while.

And yeah. A lot of people seem to forget that Disney got all of it's stories from not so happy ones. I didn't forget...But at the same time I don't expect them to make it as obvious since they are gearing their movies towards children.

Then again, children now are a lot darker than children were when I was a kid, so maybe it's okay?

I haven't noticed that change. o__o Are kids really that dark now? Well I do know that they tend to use swear words early on than when I was a a lot younger but that's about all I know.

When I say dark, I mean way less innocent than kids when I was growing up. ^^;; Sorry! For instance, when I was growing up, we watched a lot of cartoons with a lot of violence, but most of it never registered. Now kids watch a lot of violence on TV and look at how many kids are taking guns to school, getting in to gang fights, killing each other.... ect.

Yeah, I hear it gets boring after a while, since once you get a lot of money, it's not as challenging...But it will entertain me for now =)

Hm. I do and don't. I don't like a lot of the new movies. I mean I enjoy them, but they don't impact me like the old ones did.

I mean, I STILL cry during Bambi and the Lion King.

The California one isn't as great as the Florida one, so as long as you've been to the FL one, I don't think you're missing much. But I am so tempted to go to the Hong Kong one as soon as I get settled in Japan again. I need to hear Peter Pan in Chinese. Or..I wonder if he speaks Chinese?

In Japan, Aladdin speaks Japanese but the Little Mermaid speaks English. It amuses me to hear all the different characters speak, for some reason.

what amuses me is the foreigners playing the disney characters!

Hehe. Yep. Sometimes they match and sometimes they don't. I used to want to be one of those people who got to dress up as random characters. I wanted to be one of the Lost Boys.... But I'm not a boy.

Up until now, I feel that Paris has done the best job at matching characters and their players.

I play poupee (>_<)
Can I add you on there?
My name's Midori there but I'm sure there are a lot of Midori's so it might be hard to find me.

I've never liked theme parks in general just because I get motion sickness and I don't like heights. I've never been to any Disney park.

Sure! Here's my link:

I don't even know how to begin finding people on Poupee just yet.

That's understandable. I never really liked heights either until one of my friends dragged me up to the observation deck in Roppongi. After that, I figured anything else just wasn't high. This will be my first year actually able to ride high rides =D

I only went to Disney Orlando once when I was 12, and I just remember there being TOO MUCH. I love Tokyo Disney because while there is a lot, it is not so much that you have to debate over what you want to do that day. If you plan out routes based on what rides are crowded at what times (which they have guidebooks for funnily enough) you can easily do all the rides. The shows and of course other attractions have to be worked in, but I just love the size of both Disney Parks in Tokyo. Plus Sea is such a nice place to just visit even without doing anything.

Pisses me off that a year-round pass only covers one of the parks though. I mean seriously, the parks are next to each other, the pass should cover both, not 4man for each.

Yeah, I use that cellphone thing where it tells you the waiting time for each of the rides. Normally, we'd go straight to the farthest part of the park, start from there and then make our way forward.

Dunno if the Disney in Orlando has that though?

I never worry about the passes since I never pay my own entrance ;) That's what male friends are for. lol.

I hear you.
I'm so busy and exhausted, too. Full-time job, moving, being sick, cleaning, selling blah ... it's ridiculous.
Not having any break between my last day of work at my old job and my first day of work at my new job doesn't really help either.

At least you seem to have time ot play Poupee! ^-^ That's good.
I'm trying to relax a little, but I need to do some more deep cleaning and seal all the boxes because the moving company is coming soon. *sigh*

Shhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! Don't talk to me about moving and cleaning and boxes! I look around my room and see all I've acquired in only a few months and wonder how the heck I'm supposed to get it all back. Hhahhaha. It makes me nervous...

I hope you really do find time to relax though. It's never too good to over-do yourself...

"An ugly duckling growing out of her feathers."

Hello. I'm Zia, and this is most obviously my journal. I write about my life between Japan and the US, and all the adventures I find myself in. People often say they are envious of the life I seem to live, but the truth is, I feel a little unsatisfied with it myself, so I've decided to do something about it--to find what really makes me happy. Hopefully by documenting my life, I can figure out where I need to be heading. This journal is my way of opening my world to those around me in hopes of meeting people searching for the same thing or encountering people who have already gone through this kind of struggle.

Back in my high school days, I used to be a bit of a nerd. I was really in to comic books of all kinds, action figures...all that jazz.  These days, though my interest in comic books re-surfaces every so often, I'm very much more in to things like fashion, dance, music, travel, tea, baking, writing letters, photography, animals and fitness. I'm a straight shooter--meaning I do not (or rather, can not?) lie. Keeping up with lies is too much trouble.

Anyway, there is more information about me on my profile. Feel free to take a look there or catch me on another site★
