I'm not sure how I did it, but I managed to get two weeks worth of work done in one week, which means that next week, I can be as lazy as I want. I'll most likely spend it in bed with a bowl of strawberries, trying to start reading 神様のカルテ. There are several books, but I'm only focused on the first one.

The DVD for 神様のカルテ came out last month, but I really don't want to watch it until I finish the novel.  My goal is to complete this novel by the end of this year. The book is only 252 pages, but because it's loaded with kanji and vocabulary I'm not familiar with, I'm giving myself that amount of time. To give myself less time would be setting myself up for failure.

I met up with some friends from high school today and it was pretty fun! We mostly sat in a cafe had had bubble tea, but we still laughed a lot more than expected. They kept insisting that I had changed so so much and that they were amazed at the person I had become. I know I've changed mentally and I knew I had changed to a degree physically, but it wasn't until I compared two pictures side by side that I realized I really have changed!  On the left is the person they remember, on the right is the person I've become. Now that I am more serious about getting in shape, I wonder what I will look like in another two years.

In two weeks, I'll be meeting with a few more classmates. I can't wait.

Good luck! Reading books in Japanese is fun :) 神様のカルテ is quite difficult though, I assumed it would be an easy read, then read the first couple of pages and decided to read something easier (I wanted to give my brain a break). But, that means that when you finish it, books which are really easy to read should be a piece of cake :)

And, your weight loss is pretty damn impressive!!! Wow!

My kanji is still insanely weak, so even the first few pages were a bit of a hastle for me, but I don't plan on giving it up just yet. Up until now, I was learning kanji through manga, but manga doesn't hold my attention long enough. I've been working on completing a series for a year now, since I keep reading other things...So it's obviously not effective.

This book might be a challenge, but I have the motivation to do it.

Thanks a lot! It is pretty good, isn't it? I hadn't realized the big change until now. I want to lose more weight, but now I'm thinking that my 10kg goal is unrealistic.

Good luck!!!

Losing another 10 kilos? That seems a bit much! Take it a kilo at a time :)

Well, first I had decided 5kg. Then I had decided 5kg wasn't enough and changed it to 10kg.... but looking at my pictures now, I think 5kg will be enough. I don't want to get too thin.

A teacher called me out on it once in the middle of class, when I had gotten too thin. It was humiliating, so I don't want to drop to that again!

It's always awesome to finish work in advance! That's great! Right now I'm finishing my initial psychological report for a classmate, and I feel so productive. I hope you'll enjoy this coming week. Make the most of it... even if, yeah, in this case it means lazing around! :) Good luck reading the book, too. Just thinking of kanji... Eep, cold sweat. Haha!

Anyway, I agree with the other two. You really have lost tons of weight. Great job! What's your secret?

I just finished flipping through the entire book and it looks like my "lazy period" will be filled with looking up kanji. It doesn't look like I'm going to be as lazy as I thought.

As for what my secret is? Walking. Lots and lots of walking! I also plan what I'll eat at the beginning of every day so I can still eat all my favorite sweets. I don't like diets, so instead I'm trying to create a new life style.

Yea! I can't wait. There are so many things I want to do in order to be lazy...Such as get a massage, pedicure, manicure, sleep in, make popcorn and watch shows, read....

I hope they'll be shocked! They better think "OUR LEADER LOOKS AWESOME!" lol.

That book! I've always wanted to read that. I need to go to Book Off and pray someone brought in an old copy of it so I can buy it for cheap lol

I rarely ever go to book-off unless I'm trading something in or looking for something to just kill time with. Usually, I like my books & CD's to be new.

At the moment, I'm only a couple of pages in, but the style is very....Poetic? It flows nicely.

"An ugly duckling growing out of her feathers."

Hello. I'm Zia, and this is most obviously my journal. I write about my life between Japan and the US, and all the adventures I find myself in. People often say they are envious of the life I seem to live, but the truth is, I feel a little unsatisfied with it myself, so I've decided to do something about it--to find what really makes me happy. Hopefully by documenting my life, I can figure out where I need to be heading. This journal is my way of opening my world to those around me in hopes of meeting people searching for the same thing or encountering people who have already gone through this kind of struggle.

Back in my high school days, I used to be a bit of a nerd. I was really in to comic books of all kinds, action figures...all that jazz.  These days, though my interest in comic books re-surfaces every so often, I'm very much more in to things like fashion, dance, music, travel, tea, baking, writing letters, photography, animals and fitness. I'm a straight shooter--meaning I do not (or rather, can not?) lie. Keeping up with lies is too much trouble.

Anyway, there is more information about me on my profile. Feel free to take a look there or catch me on another site★
