An Evening With A Gentleman

It's only noon and I'm already itching for the day to end. I found out my sister is engaged--through someone else. I'm not jealous or anything. I'm just really annoyed that I had to find out through a third person. When I tell family that my sister and I don't speak, they always look at me in shock and ask why we don't. She's the one blocking me out, and although I don't care anymore, it is really annoying that people keep acting as though it's my fault. Everyone tells me to invite her to visit me in Osaka...But my sister won't even invite me to her place in Hawaii while I'm in the US. What makes them think she'll want to spend time with me across the globe?

Anyway, after I finished ranting to my BFF about that, I logged on to livejournal to catch up with people who actually matter, and I see that apparently, I was over my bandwitdth limit with photobucket, and everything was basically gone. I paid for more bandwidth for just this month, since it resets itself on the 22nd of this month. It's  funny how much this account has come to mean to me. My heart nearly dropped when I saw everything was down.

Where do you store pictures and such?

LAST DAY IN NEW YORK!

It was far less rushed than our first few days.

Photobucket

Our day started off at Hard Rock. R had known about Hard Rock--the museum--but hadn't known that it was actually a cafe, so as soon as I told him, he decided we'd eat there. He ordered this huge burger ( I swear it was a full cow!), I ordered salmon and vegetables, and we split Nachos and desert. We ended up getting so full that we actually didn't eat anything else the entire day. The waiter we had kept crowding us, coming back every few minutes to ask if we needed anything else. He'd show up after what felt like every three bites. It kind of made it a little hard for R and I to have any real conversation.....

He told us he was bored and needed something to do every time he came back. You know, had I ever said "I'm bored," at my old job, my boss would have found so many things for me to do, I would have dropped from exhaustion.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you that Hard Rock Cafe's salmon is the best salmon ever in existence. Having lived in Sitka, where the economy was run by Salmon fishing, I've had my fair share of fish, so I can confidently say this fish takes the cake. Go out. Buy it. Eat it. Enjoy it. I enjoyed it so much I could barely walk after we finished eating, so R dragged me off to see the Chelsea Market. We regretted getting so full at Hard Rock because there were so many delicious things to eat there. I told R I didn't care about gaining weight and that I could easily tackle that Elmo cake as long as I had a bit of milk, but in all honesty, I couldn't eat another bite without knowing I'd pop.
Being our last day in New York, we wanted to do something fun and out of the ordinary, so R said we'd go to Blue Note, which is apparently a famous jazz club for Japanese people. The music and drinks were amazing. R told me he thought I was beautiful and kept asking me if I wanted another drink as soon as I finished one. I worried he would try to take things to the next level (which I didn't want) but surprisingly, he was a complete gentleman through and through.

New York was so much fun! R kept saying he'd love to live there. I loved it too, but I know that if I were to move there, I'd grow to hate it. We plan on going back again sometime in the future. This time however, we'd like to go during the summer so we can hit Coney Island.

Oh, I woke up this morning to work out. When I turned my TV on, one of my favorite TV shows was on. I won't say what show it was or what it was about. I'll only leave you with an image. I'm sure you'll figure it out =)

Haha. I wanted to try them so much! Thinking about it now though, all that frosting would kill me and I'd never actually get through it. I'm not good with overly-sweet foods.

Goosh, it's so annoying when people interupt your meal all the time to ask if you need anything else. This is something I like about Japan: no tipping, so people won't annoy you that much.
These cupcakes look too good to eat.

I wonder how edible they actually are. It's a lot of frosting. I think I'd like to try one but realistically speaking, I probably wouldn't be able to finish it.

I'm not entirely against the tipping system. I'm against those people who think good service=breathing down my back.

Looks like you really enjoyed yourself. The salmon sounds delicious, btw. I'll definitely remember that if I ever eat at Hard Rock Cafe again.

You definitely need to try it! If you don't like it, I'll give you the money back! =D

omg those cupcakes are fantastic! Were they in Chinatown? The really cool ones that I saw in London were in Chinatown :D (I have a picture if you want to see them)

NYC is nice to go to, but I wouldn't want to live there. It's too fast paced, and I wouldn't want my life to end up like that. I like cities, just not NYC like that.

I'm glad that you had fun!

These cupcakes were in Chelsea Market. It's not soooo far from Chinatown, but it's a different area. I didn't see as many cute things in Chinatown. Mostly Knock-offs and such.

Sure! I'd love to see the picture!

There were a couple of different kinds, but the best one were these ones. We really wanted to buy them!

Those are just too too cute. Ugh. I hate it when food is so cute you just don't even want to eat it. Food is meant to be eaten! These look like they belong in some kind of collection case.

1. LOL ~dies~ love that show!! my favorite is the halloween special. so freakin funny

2. wth is up with your sister? why wouldnt she let u come to her house in hawaii? did something bad happen to ruin ur relationship or was it just gradual distancing from time apart but i cant imagine it being the latter because then a normal person would WANT to see their long lost sister etc.

3. omg how did u have ur salmon? i like mine medium rare, sooooo gooooood.

Ahaha! I remember that. It's sad how I can remember most shows and episodes from back then, but can't remember recent shows for more than a week.

We have issues. When I moved to Japan, she started drinking and smoking weed and stuff like that in Alaska. When I visited Alaska, I called her on it and we had a huge blow-out. We haven't recovered from that.

I dunno how the salmon was done. They didn't ask me how I wanted. It was probably medium-rare to rare though. Oh man, it was soooo great. I could cut it with a spoon.

I've been using Photobucket for my Livejournal for many years now.
Right from the start I had bandwidth problems cuz people hotlinked my stuff (I did a lot of icons and graphics at that time), so I created many accounts and spread out my stuff on those. Never had any issues ever since then.

I guess I'll try using multiple accounts as well. I have this blog and a blog on Ameblo. I was using one Photobucket account for both. I should separate them.

Thanks for the link! It really does look great. Maybe the next time I go to NY, I can give her stuff a try. I couldn't find an address on the website or facebook though. Is it strictly delivery?

[identity profile] fcluna.livejournal.com 2012-05-16 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
No I don't think so. The last time we spoke she told me she opened a shop. I'll make sure to get the address for you. She's actually from my home town lol and I tried almost all her bakery it's the bomb

Well, if you could get me the address, that would be great! I'll forward it to my buddy and put it on our list for the next time we're down there. I can also pass it on to friends who live in NY.

I love those Sesame Street cupcakes! I'm glad to hear you had a great time. I store my pictures on photobucket but I'm hoping to get an external hard-drive soon so I don't have to do that. I've lost so many pictures of the years because of stupid sites like photobucket or my computer crashing.

[personal profile] kurikuribebi 2012-05-15 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I usually print all my pictures so I never worry about losing them completely. However, it is pretty annoying when Photobucket crashes or something and we lose everything.

That's gotta be Boy Meets World. It's just gotta be.

Aww, I'm glad he was a perfect gentleman and that you guys had such a great time in New York. It's really hard to find guys around here who honestly just compliment you and don't push anything else.

Also..I want that Angry Birds treat...and Oscar the Grouch...and Cookie Monster. Not to eat of course. I'd find a way to plasticize it because it looks so damn cool!

That really blows that you had to learn about your sister's engagement through someone else.

Of course it is =D I grew up with that show! Oh the days when television was good. I miss them.

Haha. I hear you on that! I'd try to save them as well. They are really just to nice to look at. It annoys me that there are people with that kind of talent when I can't even make a cake that won't stick to the baking tray anymore XD.

[identity profile] rainsprite67.livejournal.com 2012-05-15 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Why do you think you'd grow to hate NY if you lived there? (not that I've ever been there, just curious lol)

Looks like you guys have been having a ton of fun! ^^

There's a Hard Rock Cafe here at the downtown where I live. I must admit though, I've never been there before.

I'd hate living in NY because it just feels so crowded and dirty for me. In small doses, it's perfectly fine, but I think I'd go crazy if I actually lived there and had to put up with the rudeness on a daily basis.
